The bruschetta, a love story that lasted three centuries, born in Tuscany but national and world heritage.
Over these centuries we have seen how it is called and cooked differently in different Italian regions, in Tuscany where it is said to have been born they call it “fettunta” a greasy slice, unsalted fool bread is used, traditional bruschetta is the classic slice of bread, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper, it is mainly used as an accompaniment to cured meats and typical meats,
In Puglia, poor food par excellence, it was used by farmers to feed themselves after long working days, the classic Apulian bread is used, heated on the grill, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil and Brindisi cherry tomatoes.
In Piedmont bruschetta is often called "soma d'aj" which means loaded with garlic, one can therefore imagine that the typical preparation in this region is a slice of bread, burst of garlic, sale, pepe.
We could go on with all the regions since each region has a love affair with bruschetta, the one that has certainly made the world fall in love is the classic one, the Mediterranean bruschetta, slice of toasted Apulian or Tuscan bread, not abundant garlic but just enough to leave the scent, extra virgin olive oil, sale, pepe, fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil leaf.
We at www.oliodelgarda.shop we often use bruschetta to do tastings and comparisons with our extra virgin olive oils from Lake Garda and having some experience we feel we can add a couple of mouth-watering recipes.
Mother's bruschetta, slice of toasted Apulian bread, Fifty-Fifty extra virgin olive oil, washed anchovies, slice of mortadella with pistachios to close the recipe, the anchovy contrasting with the mortadella makes this bruschetta a pleasure for the palate.
Bruschetta Valtenesi, slice of toasted Apulian bread, abundant El Garda DOP oil, garlic, Bagoss cheese from Bagolino, sautéed Tignale mushrooms, a triumph in the mouth for the balance and finesse of this combination.
Bruschetta is a national good, let's play with the products, let's experiment, we dare, we innovate while always remaining faithful to the only existing rule...the quality of the products.
GOOD BRUSCHETTA AND GOOD GARDA OIL TO EVERYONE.
