This year too we have reached the end of a year that has certainly left its mark on us, indelible, Garda DOP oil, also in 2023 has collected international recognition, winning numerous awards that allow us to say that we are among the best in the world.
What remains impressed on us beyond the indisputable quality? The price...for many, rightly or wrongly, very expensive.
Talking and questioning with our artisan producers to whom we are very close by a relationship that has seen us together for years 12 years and since we are oil traders we are therefore always ready to question to get the lowest price so that we can also resell it at the best market price, the producers made us think by asking us a couple of very simple and very truthful questions that lead anyone to question themselves.
The first question they asked us was this :
How come an average consumer has no problem spending 15/20 euros for a liter of oil for your car and we are therefore talking about a car not a human body and you struggle or find it absurd to spend the same amount for a liter of extra virgin oil which only brings benefits to the consumer, but he finds it right to spend it 8/10 to the utmost.
In this difference we can understand how producers are very determined in enhancing their products and do not intend to question the fact that a consumer should first think about his own physical well-being through the quality of the foods he uses.
The second question they asked us is this:
How come if a bottle of wine is prestigious, difficult to produce due to the lack of grapes, the excellent quality, grown organically, biodynamic, using methodologies that have a very high cost, a bottle of wine can cost up to several hundred euros, while for an oil that is even more difficult to produce we are always scandalized if the values ​​are exceeded 20 euros for a bottle?
